Come Support a Great Cause

Posted in News & Announcements

heart

We are excited to announce that our school will be participating in a program sponsored by the American Heart Association’s The Great RePlay on Monday, February 27, from 3-4 PM in the gym.  The program gets middle school students excited about fitness and heart health, using reimagined throwback games from their elementary school days.

Students can register at heart.org/thegreatreplay for only $5.  After they register, they need to come to Miss Brown’s class to receive their wristbands that grant them access to the activity and to sign up for their teams.  We are looking to get 5-10 kids on each team.  The teams will compete against each other on the 27th and each member of the winning team will receive a $10 Amazon gift card! Plus, we have other awesome prizes that we will be raffling off during the event.

We hope you can join us and compete on the 27th!  This is for such a great cause and we hope to help the American Heart Association in their journey to keep everyone heart healthy!  If you would like to sign up to simply donate but not participate, that is also welcome.  Thank you for supporting Albion and their SBO’s in this fundraiser.

Show our teachers some love! Nominate your favorite for our school’s Teacher of the Year award. The winner will receive prizes from local businesses, a banner for our school, and special honors at an April 25 Canyons Board of Education Reception and Honors Ceremony. Our Teacher of the Year also will have a shot at Canyons School District Teacher of the Year, which comes with additional prizes and a nomination for the Utah Teacher of the Year contest. We’ll surprise our school's winning teacher the week of March 27-31. Mark your calendars and join us if you can!

Here’s how to nominate:

  1. Download the nomination form at www.canyonsdistrict.org
  2. Tell why your teacher should be the Teacher of the Year.
  3. Print and submit the form to the PTA box in the office by February 28th (if you are a school employee, submit the form to the principal). The School Selection Committee will consider nominees forwarded by the PTA (up to two) and employees.
