Albion’s debate team took home some major trophies at our last tournament on April 3rd at Alta High School!
In Policy Debate, partners Hanna Bartnicki and Ben McGraw took 4th place, partners Shelby Talbot and Anna Kaufman took 7th place, and partners Conner Mauck and Zaniken Gurule took 13th place. All three of these teams qualified to compete at the state tournament!
The results from Oratory Speaking were:
1st Place- Kyla Hoster
3rd Place- Kathryn Weaver
4th Place- Ryan Boyd
All of these students have qualified for the national tournament this summer!
The results from Extemporaneous Speaking were:
1st Place- Meghan Hawkesworth
2nd Place- Ann Day
3rd Place- Declan Gleason
5th Place- Carter Jones
6th Place- Joseph Al-Abudi
All of these students have also qualified for the national tournament this summer!
Finally, out of the 7 Canyons School District debate teams, Albion's debate team won the 2nd place sweepstakes trophy!
Albion Middle School’s Counseling Department is excited to announce our 1st annual College and Career Ready Week. This week will include lots of interactive and informative activities related to college and career readiness. - College facts shared with ARMOR classes during morning announcements
- College tour videos shown during A/B lunch in cafeteria
- Teacher college bios (ever wonder what your teachers think about college or where they went?)
- College fight songs played during passing time each day
Monday 4/7: College pennant drawing contest in art classes
Tuesday 4/8: College pledges in math classes and cap & gown photos during lunch!
Wednesday 4/9: Career Day/Dress for Success. Students are encouraged to dress up as their future self in a career they are interested in or simply come to school dressed professionally!
Thursday 4/10: Education Pays lesson taught by counselors in 7th grade history classes
Friday 4/11: College Spirit Day. Wear your favorite college gear! Hats that bear college logos will be allowed on this day.
