The Albion Chess Team–Finley Chen (7th grade, 1st chair), Fiona Chen (6th grade, 2nd chair), Zach Sadler (6th grade, 3rd chair), Zach Dean (7th grade, 4th chair), Blake Lewis (6th grade, 5th chair), and Parker Burns (8th grade, 6th chair)–did an AMAZING job representing Albion at this year’s chess tournament.
They earned 4th place overall (missing out on 3rd place by just ½ a point)! Fiona Chen won a medal for the most wins in her chair, and Zach Dean won a medal for a three-way tie for 1st place in his chair. Mrs. Larson, the team’s advisor said, “It was the most intense and competitive tournament I’ve seen in over four years.” Congratulations Chessletes! We are so proud of you!
