Last week, author and illustrator Mike Lowery visited our school for a special assembly with every grade level. Students enjoyed learning about Mike’s artistic process and had the opportunity to draw along with him during his presentation. The following day, students continued the creative experience by sketching aquatic life at the aquarium and creating informational science projects connected to their classroom learning. It was a wonderful opportunity to combine creativity, literacy, and science in an engaging way for all students. It was a memorable two days.
