1. Call to Order – Meeting Start at 4:07 pm
2. Parent member Rene Hunter excused. All other council members in attendance.
3. September Minutes and October Agenda approved by majority through email prior to the meeting.

5. Principal Report
- Second Quarter started Monday; 56 total schedule changes for online and
- Grading: Canvas and rollover of data for 1st quarter is still processing
- District will allow switch at semester; probably will not do a change between 3rd and 4th quarter
- New Chromebooks are here and some 8th graders can trade out older ones for new ones as needed.
6. Counselor Report
- Student Threat Data: 10 for 1st quarter; up 2 from last SCC meeting
- Schedule Changes: 56 total; online, in-person, parent led, brand new to Albion
- Able to squeeze in all students, did not need to change master schedule
- Student population: 970, guidance visits: 694 for 1st quarter; 150% increase in guidance visits this year so far; 65 new students this year; no permits being accepted, in boundaries only
- We do not move students because of their friends, teacher change; all changes need to be admin approval and must be curriculum related.
- Albion Ambassadors are providing support by: New student lunch, You Are Not Alone (YANA) lunch group, Quarter 2 Welcome Back to in-person learning
7. TSSP update
- Spending adjustments: Moved money for counselor and PD; neither needed an
- Tutoring: Library will be open starting Monday after school; Librarian will be the teacher in charge to proctor and supervise students for re-takes and work completion
- Recruiting math teachers for after school tutoring; working through which days to offer Math tutoring.
- If there are not teachers available to tutor for Math, then will open it up to other
8. Digital Citizenship and Safety Plans
- Next meeting SCC will need to answer a series of questions after members read both the safety plan and digital citizenship plan
- White ribbon week, Common Sense Media, Netsmarts, digital citizenship week
- Teachers will have continuing digital citizenship PD
- There is a community component for digital citizenship
- Digital Citizenship has been incorporated into our Positive Behavior Support Plan (PBIS)
- School Safety Plan: Emergency Drills, visitor check in policy, volunteer sign up, safe entry, emergency communication, volunteer partnership, school safety tips, transportation safety, school climate, SCC report, hoax threats, safety tips, parking lot safety, resources for families
- Content keeper for inappropriate use of Chromebook. Challenges of filtering at home.

10. Member Items and Comments
- Are the counselors ok? Seems like they are overrun with kids, scheduling, and programs
- Doing the best they can, and looking forward to some stability at some point
- What is the safety plan when the power goes out?
- Not all plans have specificity because of the circumstances. Power outage was complicated by CO sensor system malfunction.
- Bus issues; no calls to parents; no calls to schools if there was a late bus.
- Molly will check on this.
- The Friday checklist is a great success for all grade levels!
- Thank you! The teachers are doing amazing with all the adjustments, and re-adjustments.
