Albion debaters competed in the Championship debate tournament on April 27th at Mount Jordan Middle School. Here are the students who placed in the top 20% of the hundreds of debaters who competed.
Policy Debate:

- FIRST PLACE Speaker Award – Argo Tar
- 2nd Place Team (and qualified for state) – James Sorenson and Oli Pohlman
- 3rd Place Team (and qualified for state) – Marcus Broderick and Lincoln Wong
- 4th Place – Will Stanworth
- 5th Place – Jaxon Haradin
Lincoln-Douglas Debate:
- FIRST PLACE (and qualified for state) – Neve Chamberlain
- Top 20 % (and qualified for state) – Sophia Bergstrom
- Top 20 % (and qualified for state) – Zach Crandall

Additionally:
- Oli Pohlman won the MVP award for being Albion’s most successful overall debater in his 3 semesters of debate.
- Noah Thor won the Coach’s award for being the debater with the most commitment, determination, and perseverance.
- Oli Pohlman, Will Sorenson, and Haydin Waite were also recognized for their commitment to debate. Since they’ve each chosen to take debate class 3 separate times, they were awarded a special 3-year debater award.
